Outside at the Heart of Design
Outdoor areas, though naturally beautiful as they are, can be landscaped to enhance both the aesthetic appeal and functional purposes of any commercial or recreational site. Whether designed as stand-alone gardens and parks, or incorporated into a solo building or complex, landscaped features add a warmth and softness to your overall architectural or engineering plan. Our respect for the environment and ethical engineering make landscape design a key component on many of our projects.
Part of the Flow
As part of Consolidated Consultants (CC) Group complete services in design and engineering, our landscape design team works with all other departments from the master planning and tender preparation stage, through impact assessment and construction, to post occupancy evaluation. Our specialist landscape designers work as part of the project design team each step of the way to ensure landscaped areas are built in from the ground up as part of the overall flow and purposes of the venture.
Environmentally Sensitive Design
When designing landscaped areas on their own or as part of a larger project, we consider the effects on the local environment and community. We conduct thorough Environmental Impact Studies on all projects to ensure we are not damaging sensitive eco-systems or adding fauna that will destroy native plant life. Where possible we use as many of the hard and soft elements found on site, as well as housing and replanting flora from the original site or native to the area.
Landscaped adaptive reuse areas recapture the natural beauty and function of a site, recreating original aspects to the land or designing new features from what was once there. In this era of eco-consciousness, adaptations of existing built up areas regain the physical, social and environmental benefits of green, landscaped areas around workplaces, in cities, or within a solitary site.
From our background on projects throughout the arid deserts of the Middle East and Africa, we naturally apply the principles of xeriscaping when designing landscaped areas for water-short areas. Xeriscaping focuses on water usage and conservation, minimizing the adverse affects through well engineered plans and carefully selected quantities and types of plants.
Features and Detailing
The true quality of our landscape designs is found in the features and details. We add artistic elements and physical features that add to the pleasures and purposes of a site. Walkways and signage systems not only help people move effortlessly from one area to another, they become part of the design. Distinctive work, play, rest or congregating areas each have their own touches to distinguish them from one another.
